Jean-Michel Basquiat is well known for using social commentary in his paintings to identify with his experiences in the Black community of his time, as well as attacks on power structures and systems of racism. Basquiat was also known for using a crown motif as a way of celebrating Black people as majestic royalty or deeming them saints.
Released in conjunction with the "King Pleasure" exhibition in New York City, the Basquiat "King Pleasure" 400%+100% bearbrick comes in waterprint finishes, along with a crown that lights up with batteries inserted.
