Mika Ninagawa Bearbrick Collaboration with Medicom Toy
Born 1972 in Tokyo, Japan, Mika Ninagawa (蜷川実花) is a multidisciplinary artist who works with both film and photography. Her late father, Yukio Ninagawa, was a Japanese theatre director, actor and film director. Her late mother, Hiroko Ninagawa, was an actress. Ninagawa owns a distinctive style of vivid and lush coloured pictures of themes surrounding flora, fauna and landscapes. She received the 26th Kimura Ihei Award (Japan's most prestigious photography award) in 2001 along with two other photographers, marking the first time that the award was presented to a female photographer. Her continued global presence over the past decade has increased her profile, both in her works as well as commercial collaborations.
